LYNSEY DE PAUL

LYNSEY DE PAUL

Lynsey De Paul is perhaps best known for her work in the music industry but she has added public speaking, journalism and presenting television and radio to her list of considerable achievements.

Her quick wit and reporting skills have proved to be very successful for lifestyle programmes. She presented three travelogues from the Caribbean, where she used her unique sense of humour to produce highly watchable programmes for Granada Sky Broadcasting.

Lynsey also presented 'Club Vegetarian', 'Shopper's Heaven' and 'Eat Drink and be Healthy' for Granada Sky Broadcasting. For Live TV she presented fifteen episodes of 'Living Room Legends', a television series looking at the public's home video performances and 'The Vinyl Frontier', a pop road show series.

Her written work is just as amusing and she has written a number of articles like 'The Seventies Remembered' for publications such as The Daily Mail.

As a talented presenter, Lynsey won a Royal Television Society Award for her documentary on BBC 1 called, 'Eve Strikes Back', commissioned by Alan Yentob. The programme was about self-defence for women, it was devised, demonstrated, presented and produced by Lynsey. A further video for the sell through market was produced called 'Taking Control' which was also presented and produced by Lynsey.

A book of the same name was published by Boxtree Books. She also presented two half hour phone-in slots for ITV's 'This Morning' on the same subject.

Lynsey went on to present her own chat show series on Granada Breeze called, 'Women of Substance', where she spoke to well known women who had achieved remarkable feats. Earlier this year she presented 'Living Issues' for UK Living on the subject of self-defence, writing a six-page pamphlet as well to accompany the series.

Although, self defence is a specialist subject of Lynsey's, she is equally well known for her fantastic sense of humour (nick named by Spike Milligan as Looney de Small), making her a favourite guest of numerous radio and television programmes such as 'Call My Bluff', 'Any Questions' and she presented twelve, two hour programmes for Capital Radio called 'Sunday Best'.

Lynsey is still very active in the music industry, a winner of two Ivor Novello Awards, a composer of 12 top twenty hits, and a council member of the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters and the composer of 9 prime time TV signature tunes.

Somehow she still finds time to devote to saving animals and working with her two favourite sanctuaries, Saint Tiggywinkles and her friend, Carla Lane's.
