LORRAINE GABRIEL Lorraine Gabriel is one of a new breed of Trimedia presenters who present radio, TV and Internet programming. She has her own Breakfast show, ‘Lorraine and The Boys’ where she has dazzled listeners with her own brand of feisty humour. Ratings have soared since she’s taken over the Breakfast slot on Wirral’s Buzz FM (A GWR Station in the North West). Lorraine, who comes from Cheshire, won BBC Talent last year and spent over six months presenting BBCi’s TOP OF THE POPS programmes live from the Star Bar at BBC TV Centre, which entails interviewing all the bands that appear on the main programme and interacting with viewers on this pioneering strand. Rob Cooper, producer of TOTP, said, “the TOTP message board has increased dramatically since Lorraine took over, she has proved herself to be a talented presenter”. Alongside this she presented BBCi programmes on Eastenders, TOTP2, 1xtra, BBC Talent and also CBBC. Lorraine has also presented ‘PURE SOAP’ on BBC 3, where Barbara Windsor said, “Move over Parkinson, this girl’s fantastic”! Before she started in television, Lorraine had a background in radio presenting; as Breakfast Presenter on Q103fm, Cambridge where she was well known for her impressions and joking around with callers. She started on her native, Warrington Wire FM as a newsreader. Legendary DJ and TV Presenter, Chris Tarrent said, “I look forward to hearing Lorraine on a Prime Station soon”, when she came second in Capital Radio’s Radiostars Competition in 2001. Far from being a dumb blonde, Lorraine has a MA Degree in Electronic Graphics from Coventry University and a BA Honours Degree in Fine Art Painting, from Camberwell School of Art in London. Lorraine is experienced at hosting live events for GWR Radio, Summer Xess at the Milton Keynes Bowl and a three-day music event at the ICA Cybersonica’03. She presented for CSV covering the VolontEurope International Seminar live from Dublin on the web which will be interactive. Lorraine has done a lot of stand up comedy, which really helps her communicate with an audience.
